Dr. Alexander Bockelmann joined UNIQA in late 2013 to build out a new groupwide IT service provider for the support of UNIQA’s 19 insurance markets. Since April 2016 Dr. Bockelmann is also appointed as the Chief Digital Officer of UNIQA driving the digital excellence in the Group.

Prior to joining UNIQA, Dr. Bockelmann worked for Allianz SE for about 10 years in different executive roles in both the corporate center as well as in operating entities, most recently as CIO of the retail and SME P&C business of Allianz in the United States as CIO of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.

Before joining the insurance sector, Dr. Bockelmann was working as a strategy consultant in the IT and Financial Service team of the Boston Consulting Group in Munich.

Dr. Bockelmann studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Bayreuth, the University of East Anglia (M.Sc.) and the University of Tübingen (Dr.rer.at.).
